Heavy rainfall and snowfall, combined with low temperature and strong wind, also caused power blackout in some areas in the country, as well as roads blocked.

The National Civil Emergency Operations Center and local authorities were busy clearing snow from roads and restoring traffic in the Balkan country's northern and southeastern parts. Power supply in these areas were also affected, dozens of towns and villages were temporarily in blackout.

The Military Meteorological Service, Albania's major weather watchdog, warns bad weather will continue in upcoming days with minimum temperature in mountainous areas down to minus 6 degrees Celsius.
