Myanmar to hold flower festival in Mandalay region

YANGON, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will hold a flower festival in Pyin Oo Lwin town of central Myanmar's Mandalay region from Dec. 14 to Jan. 12 next year, an official from the organizing committee said on Thursday.

The floral fantasia event, the 17th edition this year, will be held at the National Kandawgyi Gardens to commemorate the garden's 100th anniversary, the official said.

More than 200,000 flowers, both domestic and international, will be showcased across eight zones during the festival, he added.

The festival will also feature entertainment programs, exhibitions, and the sale of locally produced goods, he said.
