Chinese automaker Lynk & Co launches sales of 1st EV in Israel

JERUSALEM, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automaker Lynk & Co, owned by Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd., launched its first electric car model in Israel on Monday.

The model launched is the Lynk & Co 02 compact car, which offers a range of up to 465 km, a maximum speed of 180 km/h, and is equipped with a 66-kWh battery.

Lynk & Co entered the Israeli car market in January 2023 with the plug-in hybrid Lynk & Co 01, a compact crossover SUV.

Both models were jointly developed by Lynk & Co and Sweden-based Volvo Cars, which is also owned by Geely.

Also on Monday, data released by the Israel Automobile Importers Association showed that the Chinese brand BYD topped sales in the Israeli electric car market in January-November, with 16,443 units sold, mainly the Atto 3 crossover, the Dolphin hatchback, and the Seal fastback sedan.
