Azerbaijan starts natural gas exports to Slovakia

BAKU, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan's State Oil Company has started natural gas exports to Slovakia, marking the start of deliveries under a short-term pilot agreement with Slovakia's largest state energy operator SPP, the company said.

The short-term deal was effective on Dec. 1. The state oil company highlighted the significance of the partnership, noting its potential to evolve into a long-term cooperation.

"These exports reinforce our commitment to diversifying export markets," the company stated.

With Slovakia joining the list of importers, Azerbaijani gas now reaches 12 countries, including Turkiye, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, and North Macedonia.
