U.S. stocks close lower

NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 207.33 points, or 0.47 percent, to 43,750.86. The S&P 500 sank 36.21 points, or 0.60 percent, to 5,949.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 123.07 points, or 0.64 percent, to 19,107.65.

Nine of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with industrials and consumer discretionary leading the laggards by dropping 1.69 percent and 1.54 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and technology led the gainers by going up 0.14 percent and 0.05 percent, respectively.
