Pakistan's central bank forex reserves increase 18 mln USD

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Foreign exchange reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan have increased 18 million U.S. dollars, the central bank said in a statement on Thursday.

During the week ending on Oct. 18, total foreign exchange reserves of the bank reached over 11 billion dollars, the bank said.

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks came in at around 5 billion dollars, it added.

Total liquid foreign reserves held by the South Asian country stood at about 16 billion dollars.
