Number of foreign tourists visiting Russia in August highest in two years

ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Russia in August received 1.05 million foreign tourists, the most in two years, according to the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (Rosstat).

The recent data of the agency show that the number of foreign tourists who visited Russia in August exceeded 1 million people for the second month in a row. In July, there were 1.02 million of them. The last time more than a million foreign tourists entered Russia was in September 2022, also with 1.05 million people.

Overall, 6.07 million international tourists visited Russia between January and August this year, compared to 5.27 million in the same period last year.
