Portugal sees rise in road accidents, serious injuries


LISBON, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Portugal recorded 14,045 road accidents between January and May 2024, resulting in 179 deaths and 954 serious injuries, according to the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR).

The latest ANSR report reveals a concerning increase in both the number of accidents and serious injuries although the number of fatalities decreased by 4.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
