PARIS, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The United States clinched the men's volleyball bronze medal at the Paris Olympics on Friday after defeating Italy 25-23, 30-28, 26-24.

The second set was the most intense of the match. Italy's Daniele Lavia gave his team a set point at 24-23, but a service error leveled the score. The Americans capitalized, extending the set to 28-28 before Aaron Russell and Torey Defalco scored consecutively to clinch the win.
