PARIS, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's archers Jeon Hun-young, Lim Si-hyeon, and Kim Je-deok eased to the individual event's round of 16 at the Paris Olympics, while Li Jiaman was the only Chinese archer advanced on Thursday.

As an archery powerhouse, South Korea won both men's and women's team events at Paris 2024, and now all six South Korean archers have sailed into the last 16 of their respective individual events.

China's Li crushed Bryony Pitman of Britain 6-0 to book a place in the last 16 of women's individual, while her compatriots Kao Wenchao and Li Zhongyuan were eliminated by Brady Ellison of the United States and Team GB's Alex Wise, respectively.

"My teammates and my coach not only shared their experience and techniques with me, but also helped me to maintain a positive mindset and stay focused on the field," said the 26-year-old Li, who will face Alejandra Valencia of Mexico on Saturday.

Up to now, all berths for the men's and women's individual last 16 have been settled. Another Chinese archer Wang Yan will confront Lee Woo-seok of South Korea in the men's individual on Sunday.
