4 killed, 34 injured as explosion rocks protest scene in north Nigeria: police

ABUJA, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and 34 others injured after an explosion rocked the scene of a cost-of-living protest in Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno on Thursday, police said.

Addressing the media in the Nigerian capital of Abuja late Thursday, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun said the explosion took place in Maiduguri, the main city of Borno, during the protests that broke out across the country.
