VILNIUS, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A state of emergency was declared in Lithuania's Vilnius, Akmene, and Joniskis districts on Tuesday due to a heavy storm, the Baltic News Service (BNS) said.

In Vilnius, the storm caused widespread power outages, disrupted water supplies, damaged wastewater disposal systems, and led to traffic disruptions from fallen trees. A landslide on the southern slope of Gediminas Hill on Monday did not threaten the hill's stability, according to the National Museum of Lithuania, which oversees the site.
