LAS VEGAS, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Six trending categories are driving the global licensing industry, defining consumer products in 2024 and 2025, according to data released at the ongoing Licensing Expo 2024, the world's premier licensing trade show, held this week in Las Vegas, U.S. state of Nevada.

The six categories are toys and games, food and beverage, streaming and TV, apparel and accessories, video games, and location-based entertainment.

More than 10 percent of licensees, 36 percent of licensors and 46 percent of licensing agents saw toys and games as a top venture for their companies, according to License Global.

Food and beverage was a top choice for both brand collaborations and product categories of the future in 2023's Top Global Licensors report.

Streaming and TV is a mainstay in entertainment licensing. About 21 percent of licensors in the Top Global Licensors report saw the category as a major focus.

Licensing Expo 2024, running from Tuesday to Thursday, drew thousands of leading retailers, manufacturers and licensees from around the globe.
