Crime thriller "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" continues to lead Chinese box office


BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong action crime thriller "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" continued to top the Chinese mainland's daily box office chart on Wednesday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed Thursday.

The film, directed by celebrated Hong Kong director Soi Cheang and starring Louis Koo and Sammo Hung, grossed over 15.72 million yuan (about 2.21 million U.S. dollars) on the 8th day of screening.

It was followed by Chinese comedy "The Last Frenzy," which raked in over 15.05 million yuan on the day.

Domestic action thriller "Formed Police Unit," which focuses on China's peacekeeping police missions on foreign soil, came in third with nearly 8.16 million yuan of daily box office sales.

The Chinese mainland's box office revenue totaled 47.81 million yuan on Wednesday.
