Chinese shares close higher Thursday

BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.83 percent to 3,154.32 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.55 percent higher at 9,788.07 points.
