Bangladesh's July-April remittances total 19 bln USD

DHAKA, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Remittances from millions of non-resident Bangladeshis in July-April period of the current fiscal year 2023-2024 ending next month totaled 19 billion U.S. dollars, a central bank official said Thursday.

Quoting provisional Bangladesh Bank (BB) data, the official, who asked not to be named, told Xinhua, "Expatriate Bangladeshis remitted home around 19.12 billion U.S. dollars in July-April, around 8 percent higher than the same period a year ago."
