Italian luxury carmaker Lamborghini reports record sales in 2023

ROME, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini's annual deliveries surpassed 10,000 for the first time ever last year, sources with the company said.

In a press statement released on Thursday, the company called 2023 its "best ever" year, with 10,112 vehicles delivered worldwide, a record profit margin of 27.2 percent, and 2.66 billion euros (2.91 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue, a 12-percent increase year-on-year.

China is Lamborghini's third-largest market last year with 845 vehicles sold. Meanwhile, the company sold 3,000 cars to the United States and 961 to Germany, the statement said.

Lamborghini, part of Germany's Volkswagen Group, has maintained longterm ties with China. Its Ursus SUV was first unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in 2012. Last year, the company launched celebrations for its 60th founding anniversary with a 40-vehicle, 800-kilometer tour in northwest China.
