DHAKA, March 8 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 people were killed and about a dozen others injured in two separate road mishaps in Bangladesh on Friday.

Md Ashikuzzaman, a senior police officer, told journalists that seven people were killed in a three-vehicle collision involving a bus, a motorcycle and an autorickshaw in Pirojpur district, some 185 km southwest of the capital Dhaka.

According to the local police officer, three people died on the spot while four others succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.

The fatal road mishap, which occurred Friday morning, left several others injured, he added.

In a separate road mishap in Bangladesh's central Faridpur district, some 101 km away from the capital Dhaka, at least three people were killed and 10 others injured, Abu Saeed, a local highway police officer, told journalists.

He said the accident happened as a bus veered off the road and turned turtle. All the injured were rushed to local hospitals and clinics, he added.
