Cyprus, Chevron in "alignment" on Aphrodite gas field development

NICOSIA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of Cyprus said on Friday that it has received a letter from the U.S.-based energy company Chevron Corp. confirming "the parties' alignment" on the exploitation of the Aphrodite natural gas field.

The field, discovered by the Texas-based Noble Energy company in 2011, is estimated to hold 4.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
