Icelandic authorities activate response plan amid rising earthquake activity

HELSINKI, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- In response to the escalating earthquake activity in the country's southwestern Reykjanes peninsula, Icelandic authorities have activated an emergency response plan aimed at ensuring a well-coordinated effort between relevant parties, particularly within the tourism sector.

The Tourism Action Board (ASF) and the Tourism Executive Group (FHF) are scheduled to convene on Sunday, aligning with the swift evolution of events and established contingency procedures, said the government in its press release issued on Saturday.
