ZAGREB, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ) on Thursday issued a red alert for heavy rain and strong winds across Croatia. It is the highest level of warning, with severe conditions creating a risk of floods.
DHMZ announced that flooding is possible on Thursday night in mountainous Croatia on the northern Adriatic, and on Friday in Lika, as well as in the interior of the country. Citizens have been urged to avoid non-necessary travel.
