LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Disasters Expo USA will be held in Southern California in late September to focus on natural disaster preparedness, according to the expo organizer.
September is U.S. National Preparedness Month as set up by the U.S. government as a one-of-a-kind campaign to enforce the importance for all citizens to be prepared for disasters and emergencies.
It aims to ensure that all communities in the United States are ready to respond if there should be a natural disaster, an infectious disease outbreak or a chemical or radiological release.
The key theme for this year's National Preparedness Month is "Preparing for Older Adults," who face greater risks in extreme weather events and emergencies, especially for those in rural areas or low income households.
The expo will be held on Sept. 27 and 28 in Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County of Southern California amid the U.S. National Preparedness Month.
The expo will draw a variety of leading disaster management and response professionals, displaying the latest products and technology to enhance protection for communities around the world, according to the organizer.
