LONDON (Reuters) - Asylum seekers housed on Britain's new floating barge will find "decent but basic" accommodation, immigration minister Robert Jenrick said on Friday, as the government tries to handle the thousands of migrants arriving by small boats each year.
Last year, over 45,000 migrants landed on England's southern coast - up 500% in the last two years - and 51,000 migrants are currently being accommodated in hotels at a cost of 6 million pounds ($7.71 million) per day.
