JERUSALEM, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Israeli researchers managed to turn skin samples into functional human placenta cells, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem said Tuesday.
Describing it as a "groundbreaking milestone" in the field of cell reprogramming, the Israeli university said it helps understand pregnancy progression and complications, specifically placental dysfunction, investigate ailments associated with pregnancy, and develop cell therapies.
