Kenya to intensify training to combat security threats

NAIROBI, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan President William Ruto said Thursday the government will step up training to combat security threats in the country.

"We must develop abilities to work together in a mutually supportive fashion to contribute to collective national security," he said in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi during the graduation ceremony at the National Defense College. "We will intensify training and development of capacity of decision-makers in government to address contemporary challenges facing Kenya."

The country must be vigilant and analytical in detecting threats, Ruto said, urging to prioritize expanding the facilities of the college and other training institutions to meet the demand.
