U.S. stocks end mixed in thin trading

NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks finished mixed in thin trading on Friday, a shortened session following the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 152.97 points, or 0.45 percent, to 34,347.03. The S&P 500 fell 1.14 points, or 0.03 percent, to 4,026.12. The Nasdaq Composite Index decreased 58.96 points, or 0.52 percent, to 11,226.36.

Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with real estate and utilities up 0.64 percent and 0.63 percent, respectively, outpacing the rest. Communication services and technology dipped 0.7 percent and 0.67 percent, respectively, the two worst-performing groups.

For the week, the Dow rose 1.78 percent, the S&P 500 advanced 1.53 percent, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq was up 0.72 percent.
