JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Tuesday, making the first face-to-face talks between leaders of the two countries since 2008, Lapid's office announced.

They met in New York on the sidelines of the ongoing 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Lapid's office said in a statement. (Israel-Turkey-Leaders' Meeting)

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia has mediated the release of 10 foreigners who were caught fighting for Ukraine during its conflict with Russia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Wednesday, citing the country's foreign ministry.

The move came as part of a prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine and in line with the humanitarian commitment of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, the ministry was quoted by SPA as saying. (Saudi Arabi-Russia-Ukraine Prisoner Swap-Mediation)

ANKARA -- A firefighter helicopter crashed Wednesday in southwestern Türkiye on a mission, killing two Russians on board and injuring five other crew members, the Turkish Interior Ministry said.

Two Turks and 5 Russians were on the helicopter at the time of the incident in Turkish southwestern Denizli Province, it said in a statement. (Türkiye-Helicopter Crash)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi militia showed "long-range" ballistic missiles during a military parade they held in the capital Sanaa on Wednesday.

According to the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, Houthis held a parade to celebrate the eighth anniversary of its capture of Sanaa on Sept. 21, 2014. Air and sea missiles, which the Houthi television claims to be Houthi-made, were displayed. (Houthi-Yemen-Missiles)
