One killed in vessels collision in Croatia

ZAGREB, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A 44-year-old German citizen was killed on Saturday in a collision between two vessels near Cape Kamenjak in Istria in western Croatia, the Istrian Police Department announced.

The vessels collided around 11:20 a.m. local time and one vessel carrying six people sank, resulting in the death of the German citizen, the local N1 television reported, adding that an elderly woman was transported to a Pula hospital for treatment.

Both vessels involved in the collision are owned by German citizens, the report said, adding that the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
