Kenya announces birth of twin giraffes


NAIROBI, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Najib Balala on Tuesday announced the birth of twin giraffes at Nairobi National Park as efforts to save the iconic herbivore gathers steam.

Balala said in a twitter post that a Maasai giraffe had given birth to a set of twins, baffling conservationists and wildlife biologists alike since it was a very rare occurrence.
