ACCRA, June 23 (Xinhua) -- The 2022-23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) will start on Sept. 9, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced here Thursday.

The decision follows the approval of the date for the new season by the executive council of the football association.

Prior to the commencement of the new season, the GFA has also scheduled Sept. 4 as the date for the Champion of Champions to be honored by the GFA.

The GFA also announced that the GPL calendar has spared time for breaks in November and December this year for the FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar.
