Woman killed by lightning as summer storm hits Southern California

LOS ANGELES, June 22 (Xinhua) -- A woman died in Southern California Wednesday morning after being struck by lightning as a summer storm hit the area, local media reported.

The woman and her two dogs were killed while walking along a riverbed path just before 9 a.m. local time in Pico Rivera, a city located in southeastern Los Angeles County, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing the police.
