AMISOM vows to secure Somalia despite attack on army base

MOGADISHU, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) vowed Thursday to defend Somalia against terrorism threats despite Wednesday's attack on its military base in the capital, Mogadishu.

At least seven people were killed when al-Shabab fired several mortar shells into the precinct of Halane base camp, near the heavily fortified Ade Aden International Airport.
