KIGALI (Reuters) - A Rwandan woman who was deported by the United States and is facing charges related to the 1994 genocide in Rwanda appeared in court on Wednesday and denied the charges against her.
Speaking in a court in the Rwandan capital on Wednesday, Beatrice Munyenyezi sobbed and said: "It's fake. I wonder why," adding that she was a pregnant teenager during the genocide and did not have power to do any of the things she stands accused of, such as mounting roadblocks where ethnic Tutsis were then killed.
