TOKYO (Reuters) - Emperor Naruhito said he was anticipating a "bright future" as Japan began its coronavirus inoculation programme, during an address to mark his 61st birthday on Tuesday.

Celebrations to mark the Emperor's birthday have been muted this year because of the pandemic.
