Albania reports 865 new COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths

TIRANA, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Albanian Health Ministry reported on Monday 865 new coronavirus cases and 13 COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 78,992, with 47,922 recoveries and 1,393 fatalities.

Deputy Minister of Health Mira Rakacolli, who is also head of the Technical Committee of Experts on the coronavirus situation, told reporters on Monday that over the past two weeks health authorities have seen an increase in daily infection numbers and fatalities, as well as in the number of patients that need hospital treatment due to COVID-19.
