NYS COVID-19 hospitalizations down to 8,357, positivity rate 4.65 pct: governor

NEW YORK, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations reached 8,357 on Thursday in New York state, down from 8,520 on Wednesday, tweeted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Friday.

Of the 270,518 COVID-19 tests reported on Thursday in the state, 12,579 were positive, or 4.65 percent of the total, down from 5.34 percent one day earlier, said Cuomo, adding that the fatalities went down to 151 on Thursday, compared with 162 on Wednesday.
