NEW YORK, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 4,000 residents at New York nursing homes died from COVID-19 after being transferred to hospitals, The Wall Street Journal on Friday quoted state health officials as saying, a figure that increased the death toll attributed to long-term-care facilities by more than 40 percent.
The disclosure by New York State Health Commissioner Howard Zucker followed the release of a report by state Attorney General Letitia James that investigated allegations of patient neglect at homes.
