NYS COVID-19 hospitalizations down to 8,520, positivity rate 5.34 pct: governor

NEW YORK, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations reached 8,520 on Wednesday in New York state, down from 8,771 on Tuesday, tweeted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Thursday.

Of the 250,668 COVID-19 tests reported on Wednesday in the state, 13,398 were positive, or 5.34 percent of the total, down from 5.44 percent one day earlier, said Cuomo, adding that the fatalities went down to 162 on Wednesday, compared with 170 on Tuesday.
