German shares close up Thursday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed up on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 45.47 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 13,665.93 points.

Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.83 percent. Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and pharmaceutical company Merck rose by 1.72 percent and 1.56 percent respectively.

Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.88 percent. Multinational software corporation SAP and aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero went down by 1.22 percent and 1.21 percent respectively.

SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 365.75 million euros (442.23 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 2.63 percent to close at 2.22 euros per share on Thursday.
