Portugal registers highest daily deaths from COVID-19


LISBON, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Portugal reported another 293 COVID-19-related deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest daily number since the start of the pandemic, bringing the total number of fatalities to 11,305, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) said on Wednesday.

An additional 15,073 infected with the new coronavirus have been registered since Tuesday, totaling 668,951 infections since March last year, according to the DGS bulletin.
