NYS COVID-19 hospitalizations up to 8,831, positivity rate 6.79 pct: governor

NEW YORK, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations reached 8,831 on Monday in New York State, up from 8,730 on Sunday, tweeted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday.

Of the 162,938 COVID-19 tests reported on Monday in the state, 11,064 were positive, or 6.79 percent of the total, up from 5.47 percent one day earlier, said Cuomo, adding that the fatalities went down to 162 on Monday, compared with 167 on Sunday.
