German hospitals demand financial aid to cope with COVID-19

BERLIN, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hospitals throughout Germany need short-term financial aid to cope with the additional burden caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the German Hospital Federation (DKG) said on Tuesday.

"We need short-term financial aid to secure liquidity, economic security for the entire second year of the pandemic and sustainable reforms that address challenges for the post-COVID-19 time," said DKG Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Georg Baum in a statement.
