Weekly storage of natural gas in U.S. down 5.9 pct: EIA

HOUSTON, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Working gas storage in the contiguous United States was 3,009 billion cubic feet (about 85.21 billion cubic meters) in the week ending Jan. 15, a net decrease of 187 billion cubic feet, or 5.9 percent, from the previous week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Friday in a report.

The total working gas storage increased by 1.2 percent from this time last year, or 7.0 percent above the five-year average, according to the EIA's Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report.
