NYS COVID-19 hospitalizations down to 9,055, positivity rate 6.18 pct: governor

NEW YORK, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations reached 9,055 on Wednesday in New York state, down from 9,273 on Tuesday, tweeted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Thursday.

Of the 224,569 COVID-19 tests reported on Wednesday in the state, 13,886 were positive, or 6.18 percent of the total, down from 6.84 percent one day earlier, said Cuomo, adding that the fatalities went down to 174 on Wednesday, compared with 185 on Tuesday.
