Lebanon reports highest 61 daily COVID-19 deaths

BEIRUT, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon registered its highest daily COVID-19 fatalities of 61 on Tuesday, raising the death toll to 2,020, the Health Ministry said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry recorded 4,359 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 260,315.

Lebanon is expected to extend its full lockdown until the beginning of February in an attempt to curb the increasing number of infections in the country.

Lebanon has been fighting against COVID-19 since Feb. 21, 2020.
