NEW YORK, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations reached 8,888 on Friday in New York State, up from 8,808 on Thursday, tweeted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Saturday.
Of the 277,286 COVID-19 tests reported on Friday in the state, 15,998 were positive, or 5.77 percent of the total, down from 6.14 percent one day earlier, said Cuomo, adding that the fatalities went down to 157 on Friday, compared with 183 on Thursday.
