LONDON, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.97 percent, or 66.25 points, to close at 6,735.71 points.
AVEVA Group, a multinational information technology company, soared 6.97 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. GlaxoSmithKline and Pennon Group increased by 1.45 percent and 1.30 percent, respectively.
