French shares edge up 0.33 pct


PARIS, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.33 percent, or 18.47 points, to close at 5,681.14 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 22 gained in the day.

European aviation group Airbus advanced 4.65 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. European commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE rose 4.33 percent and French defense and tech giant Thales gained 3.05 percent.

French multinational retailer Carrefour went down by 2.51 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French telecommunication company Orange lost 2.15 percent and French banking company Credit Agricole edged down 1.74 percent.
