RABAT, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Morocco on Sunday reported 895 new COVID-19 cases, taking the number of infections in the North African country since March 2 to 452,532.
The total number of recoveries from COVID-19 increased to 424,896 after 1,355 new ones were added, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The death toll rose to 7,743 with 34 new fatalities during the last 24 hours, while 1,054 people are in intensive care units, it added.
The COVID-19 death rate in Morocco stands at 1.7 percent while the recovery rate is 93.9 percent.
On May 14, 2020, China Development Bank sent a batch of donation, including respirators and medical protective masks, to Morocco to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. China's Guizhou Province has also donated 15,000 surgical gloves, 20,000 medical masks and 2,000 protective suits to help protect Moroccan medical workers fighting the pandemic.
