PARIS, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- French shares rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 1.19 percent, or 66.00 points, to close at 5,630.60 points.
French multinational investment bank and financial services company Societe Generale advanced 6.83 percent. French international financial group BNP Paribas rose 5.52 percent. French multinational corporation that produces construction materials Saint-Gobain rose 4.52 percent.
